Use these cards to describe a situation. Now ask them how they feel about the situation. The first set of cards equips them with a strong emotional vocabulary.

Acknowledging emotions associated with a situation is the first step in trying to find a solution.
Most often kids aren’t able to express or even understand how they feel. Once they fill in the blank with how they feel, ask them to respond negatively to the situation. They can enact their negative response. Now ask them to respond positively to the same situation. They can now enact a positive response.

These sets of cards are meant to reinforce that each situation can be dealt positively and negatively and ultimately our response determines how we feel about a situation.
